Cambridge Finance English

  • Cambridge Financial English (CFE) is a language course by blended learning. This is an ideal opportunity for professionals in finance and business to obtain the premium certificate in Financial English, the supporting course of which has been designed by Cambridge University ESOL department in conjunction with the ACCA. To attend the course, the student needs intermediate English or above.
  • The course has 20 modules of study (see below)
  • There will be 2 face-to-face classroom sessions per week, Monday at 20.00 and Wednesday at 20.00. Each session will last 2 academic hours, or 90 minutes. Once per month there will be a 4 academic, 3 hour workshop at the weekend for progress testing, revision and review. Total teaching time is therefore 100 academic hours. Alternative course times are also available.
  • It is recommended that each student does approximately 6 to 8 hours per week study for the individual section of the course via the internet.
  • The teachers will be native English speaking teachers with experience in business and finance and MBA qualified.
  • The course is designed for up to 6 students to attend the classroom sessions and workshops simultaneously. There will be no more than 6 students per session.
  • As the course is modular, and will continually be taught on a rolling basis, if, during the course, any module is missed due to illness or any other reason, then this module can be studied at another time. Also, being modular, the course can be joined at any time without the fear of needing to catch up.
  • At the end of the course, it is recommended that the student enters the Cambridge ICFE exam (International Certificate in Financial English), held in Moscow twice per annum. The next examination date planned for the ICFE in Moscow is November. Alternatively, as Cambridge now runs this exam twice per month, such is the demand and popularity for this qualification, a trip can be offered to the UK for a five day break, where the student can take this opportunity and attend a quick revision and crammer course and then sit the exam in the UK. This extra cost would be priced subject to seasonal influences.
